John L. Boling M.D., founder of the Mandala Center received his medical training at Howard University and did post-graduate training in adult and child psychiatry at New York University-Bellevue Medical Center. Dr. Bolling has consistently been at the forefront of efforts to lay a strong empirical, practical and theoretical foundation in the are of Black family and Black child psychology. Since the publishing of his first major work dealing with self concept of minority children “The Black Identity Test-Black Images Changing.” Dr. Bolling has become a distinguished lecturer and writer on issues relating to the psychology of the Black family.
