About the Book

Normandy may be everybody's idea of a green and peaceful haven but Denis Miller discovers that green can turn very black and that a haven can become a mortal trap.

He is the target of malevolence inspired in a way that few today acknowledge ... until perhaps you probe the undergrowth or look behind some very old doors in the region.

With the arrival of Juliette Sanchez, irresistible but with a violent past, also comes terrorist plotting, and Miller finds himself the focus of a double conspiracy.

The story unravels against a background of genuine country-living and nature notes that give a certain perspective to some very unnatural events. And if that view is not wholly reassuring, A Spell in Normandy offers the reader some smiles as well.

About the Author

David White was born and educated in the UK.  He has  lived in a dozen capitals around the world, becoming an Australian citizen on the way. After military service as a linguist, he has worked in government, industry and journalism. His home has been in France for many  years.

He has written A Spell in Normandy, based on his own experiences, in the hope that the book will give some fun to the many Francophiles, settlers and others who venture across the Channel every year.
