About the Book

Just another day at the office follows Chris' fascinating and sometimes stressful careers as part of a British Forces bomb disposal team in Northern Ireland and currently as a Paramedic in the UK. They are true memoirs about many incidents he's been involved with, some in stomach churning circumstances.

It covers incidents such as the shooting dead of a colleague whilst defusing a bomb in Belfast. And describes what its like to approach a wrecked vehicle with a trapped driver and a dead child only feet away. It has graphic details of what its like to assess a patient with traumatic injuries and amputations.

It records the communication and organisation that has to happen between himself, the patient, the doctors, the fire service and other Ambulance crews to ensure the effective release of a critically injured casualty. Conversely what a high it is to orchestrate a successful resuscitation following a sudden home death.

It describes the more comical and lighter moments of the job with amusing stories and prediciments he finds himself in, when judgement calls go wrong!!!

About the Author

After the relief of leaving school I joined the Army but soon got bored with my chosen trade. After trying various trades within the Army I finally found something that kept me out of trouble, explosives! After some specialist training I found myself defusing bombs in Northern Ireland as part of a British Army bomb disposal squad. I dont recall to much advice from my careers teacher about that while at school!

Once my tour in Ireland was over my time with the Forces was finished. I left on good terms and joined the Ambulance service. I've now been with the Ambulance Service for 21 years and 15 of those have been as a Paramedic

I live on the outskirts of Cambridge with my wife and two dogs. I'm still an operational Paramedic and I have an excellent team I attempt to run!
