“South Florida!” is an adventure novel set amidst a group of individuals from various national, international and diverse backgrounds drawn together by unusual circumstances in a world gone mad with vice, corruption, con men, terrorists, mercenaries, international smugglers and beautiful women seeking love and wealth. The background of this story centers on hateful individuals aspiring to destroy the United States and much of the western world by blasting a nuclear device in the city of Miami, Florida. Assisting in this effort would be Russia’s Mafia. In the aftermath of the collapse of the Soviet Union, the mob had expanded its operational range into numerous western nations. Countered by a host of western law-enforcement agencies, wherever the newly arrived mobsters appeared they met resistance and experienced only death and incarceration. Determined to avenge and redevelop their overseas operations in the west Russia’s top Moscow based bosses, in conjunction with the internationally known Al-Qaida terrorist network, decided for the time being to lay aside their differences and hatred of one another and, jointly, cooperate to venture upon an operation to neutralize the west via nuclear terrorism. If successfully undertaken, Al-Qaida would shatter the west and restore their prominence; simultaneously, Russia’s mob would open its doors to an entirely new network of profit. Despite the best efforts of the mobsters and their extremist partners to achieve this, in the end amid a tapestry of madness, love, hatred, cruelty, and honor their plans and exertions came to a fiery conclusion on a flowery peninsula known to the world as – South Florida.


About the Author

Michael O. Logusz served in both the Regular and reserve branches of the U.S. Army. He is a graduate of various military schools including the U.S. Army’s Military Police (MP) Academy, the Non-Commisisoned Officer’s (NCO), Officer Candidate School (OCS), the Combined Arms and services staff School and the Command and General staff College. He has served throughout the United States, Asian, Pacific, European and Southwest Asian Theaters. A qualified parachutist, he served with the U.S. Army’s elite 18th Airborne Corps Rapid Deployment Force (RDF). Logusz holds a B.A. in Social Studies from Oswego state College and an M.A. in Russian Area Studies from Hunter College in New York City. In the civilian sector, he possesses an extensive law-enforcement background including Probation Officer in the New York City Department of Probation. In his continuous interest in military-political history Logusz authored “The Galicia Division. The 14th Waffen SS Grenadier Division, 1943-1945” and three volumes on the American Revolutionary War specifically pertaining to the year of 1777: “With Musket & Tomahawk. The Saratoga Campaign in the Wilderness War of 1777”; “With Musket & Tomahawk. The Mohawk Valley Campaign in the Wilderness War of 1777” and “With Musket & Tomahawk. The West Point-Hudson Valley Campaign in the Wilderness War of 1777” published in early 2016. A veteran of “Operation Iraqi Freedom,” Lieutenant-Colonel Logusz served from the period of June 2007 to May 2008 in Kuwait-Iraq. Upon his return, Logusz immediately resumed his interest in historical writing but additionally, commenced fictional writing centered on world events, activities and possible scenarios resulting in the novel-“South Florida!”
