During this 2001 tour, I was enstooled Queen mother of Asokwa because of my work which they see as helping the Pastor do his oath to the community. My husband (is that a great word, or what?) is teaching me the oath which I have to say in the local language. The oath is: “Asokwa Breku Akwa homfre yie(3 times), Emi Nana Abena Eduabah, I, mosua kyire mi oman de, wofreme anopa, ewiabir, anadwo, gye de mi yari, na se mamba, mo to.” This is repreated 3 times. It means “Asokwa we are together and together we are strong. I am Nana Abena Eduabah, I, I give my oath to the people. If they call me morning, afternoon, or night, unless if I am sick, when I do not come, I violate the laws of the town.” Nana means chief and Abena means I was born on a Tuesday. Eduabah means one who makes history. This is a load of responsibility. A Queen Mother assists the chief in maintaining order in the community, in development efforts and in counseling women.
Riding in a palanquin is tough and hot, but energizing and exciting. Paraded through every part of town, I am to show that every part is under my authority and responsibility.
The tour participants go back to the U. S. shortly, but I will stay until the end of my husband’s festival, which will be at the end of August. Yay Yay.
This festival is so full of traditions and pageantry. All the queen mothers and the chiefs are carried on a palanquin with huge drums behind each one. All the state comes out to celebrate, and last comes Nana, the King. He is looking so good and so fierce at the same time. Everyone is joyous with dancing.

About the Book
This book describes my unique, personal and professional journey not only as an ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but also as a catalyst and missionary. The book title has derived from my battle within me and within the church world that I should be ashamed of the passion and calling God has given me.
It depicts my own transofrmation in going thru tests, trials, failures and successes, but always focused on finishing the race that is set before me. It has meant joy and tears, but thru it all, God has been faithful. His faithfulness has been my shield and rampart.
About the Author
Rev. Monika Intsiful is an ordained minister having served Omega Baptist Church, Dayton, Ohio for many years. She holds a bachelor degree in a double major - sociology and public administration, and has completed master's work for a master in Theological Studies. Rev. Monika has one daughter, Lisa Renee and two grandsons, Christopher Blackmon and Hank Blackmon, who have sacrificed for the sake of Rev. Monika's calling. Monika is married to Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi, VII, Omanhen of Abeadze Traditional Area, Central Region, Ghana.
Her trailblazing includes being responsible for the church’s successful development and implementation of an Area Development Programme through World Vision in Ghana, while continuing to work on several other global initiatives. Through the ministry placed on her, two churches have been planted in Ghana and working relationship with All Africa Baptist Fellowship as well as the Ghana Baptist Convention has been realized. She continues to lend pastoral leadership to Omega’s affiliate church in Ekumfi Asokwa, Ghana. She has been called upon to present on various occasions regarding Africa peace and development initiatives.
Rev. Intsiful has served on several civic and globally oriented associations.
