Giving God tells us the more we give, the more we receive. God uses farming to teach us how this works. The lazy farmer sows sparingly. That means he plants a few kernels of corn in a field. He doesn’t enjoy the work at all. When it is time to harvest or reap his crop he has one stalk of corn with two ears on it. That is not enough corn to feed one pig. The other farmer loves to work. He plants the entire field full of kernels of corn. When harvest comes, he reaps bushels and bushels of corn. He works hard so he can give food to his family, his animals and for anyone who is in need. God says he will receive many, many blessings. II Corinthians 9: 6 [Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings. God wants us to be like the farmer who sowed a lot of seeds to help others. He enjoyed working the land and watching the corn grow. God doesn’t want us to feel sorry for ourselves when we have to do chores. There might be a time when the adult in your house gets sick. You might have to help prepare meals and wash clothes. God tells us to be glad we can work and give. He takes great pleasure in us when we do this. God says He loves a cheerful giver. He says when we take care of others, He will take care of us.

About the Book
God created a beautiful world for us to explore and to teach us about Him. Learning God’s Word can be fun and exciting. “Enjoying God’s Word Together” will take you outside of a classroom. The lessons can be taught while fishing from a dock or camping in the woods. Children will not only hear the Word of God, but will experience it in their lives.
This book allows you to be your child’s teacher. The lessons are simple and easy to read to a child. After each lesson you will find activities to make the lesson understandable in today’s world. Children understand important things at a very young age. This book can be used for any age. If you use it for your preschool child, you can read the lesson on your own, pick out the main point of the teaching and then do the “ideas for teaching the lesson” at the end of the teaching. Older children can read the lessons with you. The oldest child can read it to their younger siblings. Everyone can enjoy participating in the “ideas for teaching the lesson.”
It is very important for a child to memorize Scriptures. The reason being when he or she is confronted with a negative situation, they will remember what the Bible says to do. At the end of each lesson you have Scriptures for the youngest child and the oldest child. It is important to note the Scriptures are taken from the Amplified Bible.
God tells us, “Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” The Bible has to be a part of your life every day. That is how you train your child.
About the Author
I grew up on a dairy farm in Iowa with my four sisters. My parents nurtured us to love God and love God’s creation. God’s handiwork was all around us on the farm. It still amazes me how from one tiny seed grows a bush full of beans. I have always been fascinated with the animals. How did the cows know the exact time to come to the barn to get milked? You could set your watch by them. I have never been able to separate God and nature. For me nature is God’s lesson book about Himself.
Years quickly passed and I became a mother of four wonderful children. Like me, they were nurtured in the love of God and grew to appreciate the outdoors. To this day they spend hours kayaking, rafting, mountain biking or hiking in the mountains. All of us enjoy planting flowers and gardens and I enjoy trail riding my horse, Dolly. Even my young granddaughter loves to pick flowers and play with her cats. Every time the door opens she is ready to go outside.
Jesus Christ taught on the mountain side, sitting in a boat on a lake or in the wilderness. He used nature to explain the ways of God. He used a mustard seed to explain believing and the birds to show how God will provide for us. His way of teaching inspired my daughter, Jenny, and me to put lessons and activities in a book to help young children understand God. “Enjoying God’s Word Together” will help any adult nurture their child to love God and His creation. God made laughter, so have fun and enjoy all God is and all God has given every day of your life.
