The pattern repeated itself, over and over again. Only the Marguise du Pompadour with her listing to him, and her gentle understanding of his nature brought him any peace. She was his and more and more he began to realize how very she ment to him------a King!

With the new theater movement, the King converted the great beautiful Stairway of Lousi XIV, one the showpieces of Versailles into a new theater for Madmae de Pompadour. It took the craftsmen and carpenters quite a while to build. It was years before the stage could be used. The new establishment was functional and could be taken down so that the area could be used for affairs of state.

The King had eyes only for (Reinette) Madame de Pompadour and she had eyes only for him.

The King gave Madame de Pompadour the Cameo made with his likeness with 600 white diamonds on it.
