About the Book

"We've come this far together. Your hand is placed in mine. Now it's time to turn the page..."

You knew her from afar. She was the mysterious, dark-haired girl that turned into the woman you always wondered about. You might of heard things about her but you were never sure if they were true. You caught her eye at the parties she went out to alone once or twice and the electricity made you turn away. She was never alone but you wondered if the people she traveled with were confidants or strangers. Her gypsy smile intrigued your imagination to the point of overload. Don't wait any longer, this is her life. Quench your curiousity and let your mind travel to where she's been. See what she's seen and you might see that she is not very different from you. Open the book and let her whisper in your ear...her life, your life, our lives are waiting to be explored on a level as boundless as the imagination can span.

About the Author

"LadyVee DaPoet" aka DeVeata Behynca Williams began her poetic journey at a early stage in life. Poetry was, and still is, her escape from a shyness that crippled her in a very early age. She found that through descriptive words she could reach out to people that she was too afraid to look in the eye and speak to in person.

Growing up in Augusta, GA, attending Evans High School and eventually getting her degree at Augusta State University exposed her to various poetry groups like "The Fifth Chakra" (Brotha Trav Wright), the "Jag Cafe" at Augusta State where she was a featured poet, and The Creative Goddesses of Augusta (Rhian Swain-Giboney/Redwolf Marketing). LadyVee regained her poetic confidence by competing with other poets at open mic shows at Soul Bar (downtown Augusta) and anywhere else that would let her on stage. The poems included in this collection are ones that have received favorable response from spoken word audiences in Augusta, Martinez, Evans, Grovetown, and presently in Atlanta, GA.
