About the Book

A HUSBAND’S HANDBOOK begins by teaching and encouraging the husband to be a Wise Builder.  Because the torrents of life strike every house, the Wise Builder always considers where and what to build his house upon.  The Wise Builder builds the foundation for his house upon Jesus Christ, The Rock.  Additionally, God has given them “the power and equipment of ministry or serving within their households;” and, He has also “endowed believers with spiritual and practical wisdom.”  Each husband must choose methods and motives that will be in alignment with the Word of God.  The element of accountability to God is elaborated on, so that, husbands understand that they are responsible to Him for their households.  A Father’s Affirmation is essential to the success of every man.  Observing and imitating Jesus Christ’s relationship with The Father accomplishes this.  Through God’s Affirmations, the husband draws his strength, confidence, and support from an unwavering God of love.

From the Garden of Eden, husbands get their job description before the fall of man.  The primary responsibilities that Adam had in the garden were to “dress it and keep it.”  To dress means, “to serve without wages.” And, to keep means, “to protect or attend to.”  A detailed examination of these two responsibilities is provided.  The construction of the house continues with the adding of the walls, doors and windows, and the roof to the foundation.  As a result, the husband sets the example in his prayer life, Christian conduct and character for the members of his household on a daily basis.

Finally, the Wise Builder “keeps himself in the love of God” toward his household and the world around him.  This a important because the scriptures teach “faith works by love.  The Husband’s Handbook addresses issues helpful for the premarital or post-marital man.
