In Defense of the President

     A great example of the lack of honor liberals have are radical protestors who enjoy protesting at military hospitals where wounded American soldiers are housed. At Walter Reed Army Medical Center anti-war protestors from the infamous anti-American Code-Pink organization lined themselves up at the entrance and danced around with signs that read “maimed for lies” or “enlist here and die for Halliburton” and lined up caskets to mirror deaths in Iraq. They also chanted “George Bush kills soldiers.” 

     Protestors kill soldiers by emboldening the enemy and showing the enemy that they should continue to fight. Anti-war protestors are the favorites of terrorists. If they had any class at all these protestors would find another venue than a hospital to spew out their ignorant rhetoric. Men and women who have fought for all Americans to be safe and free are dying in that hospital. Do these protestors care whatsoever about what those soldiers think? Apparently not.  Instead they are tormenting wounded soldiers; so much for their ‘compassion’. Whose side are these people on?

     A huge myth about the Democratic Party is that they are the ‘Party of the People’ whereas the Republican Party is the ‘Party of the Rich and Elite’. It says a lot when the average donation to a party for a presidential election is $50. Wouldn’t the party that receives small donations from millions of people instead of a few thousand dollars being donated by thousands of people be the ‘Party of the People’?  Well the Republican Party averages about $50 for each donation.[i] The Republican National Committee (RNC) has posted the donation numbers every year to show the public that they receive small donations from a majority of Americans. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has been silent and not provided any information on donations received. The refusal to publicly display their donation size is due to the fact that if they did, all their voters would learn that the party is primarily funded by the ‘rich and elite’ (yes Hollywood is included). In regards to wealth, nine out of the top eleven senators are Democrats and Democrats are also more likely to marry into wealth as opposed to earning it like Republicans. [ii]

     The Center for Responsive Politics (CRP) a nonpartisan campaign research organization released a study from the 2001-2002 election cycle in response to the 2004 presidential election claims by the Democratic Party that the Republican Party was supported by the rich. The study showed that of the $773 million raised by Republicans $523 million was from contributions below the $200 range. A large majority of the under $200 range consists of checks for $100, $50 and $20. The $523 million is 64 percent of total contributions which means 64 percent of the Republican Party funds are received by small personal checks. In comparison the Democratic Party only has 35 percent of their total funds from personal checks below the $200 range. Those who donated $1 million or more contributed $48 million to the Democratic Party compared to only $4 million for the Republican Party. That is a 1,100 percent difference. During the congressional election cycle six individuals for the Democratic Party donated $30 million; Haim Saban, $9.3 million; Fred Eychaner, $7.4 million; Stephen Bing, $6.7 million; Stephen Kirsch, $3.2 million; Bernard Schwartz, $2.3 million; and the Democratic Senator Jon Corzine, $2 million.[iii]
