About the Author

Safiyyah Z. Maalik, a Chicago native and Owner of Illinois registered gift sales and special projects consulting company - Sales By Design, Inc. - is a freelance professional sales model and lifetime student whose career for the past twenty plus years has been customer service related work ranging from transportation to the fashion and entertainment industries. Over the years, her sales and modeling expertise has been utilized to sell Mary Kay cosmetics, gift bags, and fashion show admission tickets. Her skills has also garnered her a sales assignment with the five star hotel Peninsula Chicago Gift Boutique and a nationwide promotional project called GLAM LIVE with Chicago-based alternative media company, Windy City Media, LLC. Additionally, she even holds several Illinois vendor's registrations for pursuing potentially diverse projects. When she is not assisting other businesses, she is either dating on-the-go style; shopping; salon and spa hopping; modeling and networking to build her portfolio; or designing and selling her own gift products.
