About the Book

G-String fairy tales of the Cordillerans is rather a unique book. How did a G-String (a woven colorful unique fashion) special group of people in the northernmost area of the Philippines came to introduce fairy tales as a tool for children: to develop their linguistic and language skills while maintening fun and interactive learning environment? The Cordilleran forefathers, who arrived by land bridges 30,000 years ago, developed and used these folktales to teach their children life's family values- some of which are expounded by self-improvement gurus in their lectures. When formal schooling was introduced during the American occupation of the Philippines in the 1930's, these same fairy tales were used to teach the children reading skills and the English language. Another lofty purpose of this book is the encouragement of diverse "non-western" cultural groups in the Western world to share their respective fairy tales/folktales as means of supporting the examination and understanding of cultures other than one's own.; explain to other children of this world the existence of imaginative wonders that do not have scientific explanation; and, teach life's lessons that there are circumstances and conditions that do not have any explanaton yet exist!. Furthermore, this is a HUMANE PROJECT. Royalties (after administrative expenses) procured from the sales of this book will assist with the educational needs of children of disabled veterans including other children.

About the Author

This will be a childrens book preferably for middle school children. For past centuries my Cordilleran forefathers authored these fairy tales for the purpose of: teaching family values in life; reinforcing ethics and morals; reading skills for educartional growth; and multi-cultural understanding while encouraging fun, creativity and imagination to their children, therefore, the magic tricks and indigenous dances. My first introduction to these G-String fairy tales for learning purposes was when my grandparents/ mother and I organized these fairy tales so I could learn life's family values and reading skills. from the literature. My great, great grandparents- primary authors of this book- were unique authors. They accepted these fairy tales from their ancestors and re-told the same to later generations, had no formal education and they were tribal leaders who hunted and practiced spiritual rituals. My grandmother, was a schoolteacher, my mother, Dr.

Beatrice Batnag Donofrio, a retired professor with a Doctorate in Education from Columbia University (U.S.A.), and I, Antonio Donofrio, finalized the authorship of this chidrens book. I am still a perrenial student in the field of Computer Science; there is so much more for me to learn in this field of study. Finally, my father Robert M. Donofrio of Italian, Polish and Russian Jewish blood completes the authorship of this book. Of artistic abilities, he did the illustrations of the book.
