About the Book

Power in Ordinary People is a collection of true-life stories that tell of answers to prayer the authors have had over 40 years of life-ministry together. You will read about how young and old, men and women—even a little baby—received a miraculous touch from the Lord in answer to rather basic, but believing, prayers. The authors acknowledge to being only ordinary people themselves, but ones that believe in the extraordinary power that is available from God through believing prayer. It is truly a book that will bring the dynamic of prayer right into your room as you read these God-honoring stories. Allow the spirit of this book to fill your heart as you read stories of how God used two ordinary people that believe wholeheartedly in prayer. The authors’ wish in writing this book, and now making it available publicly, is for you to know that, if God used them, He can also use you. We are all nothing more than ordinary people, but, fortunately, those are the kind God uses to accomplish His extra-ordinary plans. This book will reveal the kinds of things God can do through ordinary people who will obey His Word. In the 48 chapters, you will find some loving and miraculous answers to prayer.

About the Author

Bud and Gertrude Hitt grew up in rural northwest Ohio. After marrying in 1946, they soon opened a restaurant and were owner-operators for a number of years. Bud went into the archery business, making his world-famous Hit Archery re-curved bows, and soon added Hit Trophy as a component to the business (www.hittrophy.com). Besides working in the restaurant, Gertrude was the bookkeeper for the business, plus all the regular home-based duties of a loving wife and mother. They have three beautiful daughters, two of whom still live in the area, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Though not pastors of a church, they both felt a call to do local ministry during their years of operating their business, a ministry in which their daughters also became involved. Gertrude and the daughters sang, and Bud was the spokesperson. Their singing became so popular and professional that they cut two albums in Nashville in the late 60’s and early 70’s.

During their years of ministry, some of which included prison ministry under the auspices of Bill Glass, they both had numerous experiences of praying for people and seeing them miraculously healed, as well as leading many people to Christ. Their humble economic beginnings, as well as their humble hearts before the Lord, may be the very reasons that God has used them so effectively during their years of service for Him. Just like you and me, they are ordinary people, but God has chosen to use that ‘ordinary factor’ to accomplish some extraordinary things through them. This book is part of their story. They are still very active in the Lord’s work, including a local prison ministry.
