Carried Full Term
It must not be aborted,
Doing everything in my power to enhance
Its well being.
Carrying it with dignity,
What I carry, it brings to my life order.
Putting my life through much change.
So that it and I will be healthy.
Carrying it full term,
What I carry the world needs,
It's waiting with patience.
I speak to it daily, allowing it to know its purpose,
As a mother speaks to her unborn,
Moving in me, oftentimes kicking vigorously,
It knows me and I know it.
It must be healthy because I've monitored
The total process.
In the future, it wil be delivered;
Bringing forth the dream and its
Manifested purpose...
Yesterday's Child
Yesterday, you loved me,
Caring for me well,
Giving me the milk of hardship,
Most times it was harsh and lukewarm,
Sometimes souring on the stomach.
You wrapped me with the blankets of trouble and sadness.
You gave me your best, putting little to great use.
Using every hour of your day to nuture
and empower that I might know wholeness.
Making sure I'm ready for my adoption of my new parent;
Tomorrow
The changing of parents--from yesterday to Today;
after being given over to --Tomorrow.
Today is the time of transition...
The Seam Of My Emotion
The seams of my emotions tear as I look around.
It seems as though the human race is so unhappy
And unfulfilled.
We have lost respect for ourselves.
Men have lost their integrity.
Excuse me for looking on,
I'm just a bystander.
Something has gone terribly wrong.
Who has mentored them?
My heart is moved with great sadness.
Who will lead tomorrow?
Who was preparing yesterday?
The seams of my emotions are now torn...

About the Author
Thomas Reginald Bridges is the son of James and Ida B. Bridges. Thomas is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina. He is an Ordained Gospel Minister. He is employed by the North Carolina Autism of Society.
Thomas, attended the Cape Fear High School, the Academy of Business carrers, Washington DC, the Carolina Bilble College, the Christian Outreach Bible College and Methodist College. He has an Associates degree in Christian Education. He plans to complete his education, majoring in writing with a minor in religion.
Thomas is a lover of God and humankind.
Thomas has been named among the two hundred better poets and poems for 2003, 2004, 2005. He has also listed among who's Who, also The Editors Choice award with the International Library of Poetry.
