Oliver and Frank

Frank and Oliver enjoyed fishing every morning on the sprawling banks of Pepper River. The lake was majestic in its own beauty.  It was serene, perfect for a squirrel with a line to fish and a dog looking for a nice soft place to lie. Oliver would tie a line to his toe, lean back, watch the sky, and wait for the fishing line to grow taut with a fish rewarding his patience. Sunshine washed over Frank as he stretched, drinking in its nectar. Frank would lie in the sun, stretching on his back talking to Oliver.  Frank talked about the day, the night, and lazily talked about why the clouds were fluffy. He talked about everyday good things that dogs liked to talk to squirrels about. 

          "Oliver, why do you suppose the clouds are so fluffy?” asked Frank.   "Frank, I don’t know,” said Oliver. “You are always asking me hard questions.  Why don't you look it up in the encyclopedia," asked Oliver. "It's not that hard of a question, Oliver," said Frank, "I just want to know what you think deep in your heart."  "Aw Frank, I just want to fish," said Oliver. "Alright," said Frank, "But one day you will wonder how those clouds got so fluffy."
