About the Book

“Field of Light” is a short novel that takes your mind from the smallest atom to the great expanse of space.   It is a journey of the mind and of the heart.  In life we think of many questions but don’t always take time to answer them.  This story is about a man who decided to find the answers. He is not a great philosopher, just a simple man who is continually questioning everything around him.  One night, filled with pain and exhaustion from a hard day’s work he decides to try meditation.  This results in an incredible series of experiences in which dreams and reality are merged until he finally comes to a clear realization of his purpose and place in the universe.  It is a light -hearted tale that invites the reader to think beyond the here and now.

I would like to share a line from my book by way of introduction:

"The physical components that make up my body  Were here before I came to exist, therefore my Physical age is the same age as the universe.”

I was born in west Iran in a city called Kermanshah. In my thirties I came to live in the united state. At an early age I traveled to many border cities, where I met people from neighboring countries.  I experienced their different life styles, customs, and faiths. After finishing high school, I worked for a couple of years in Tehran, and then I moved to India to pursue higher education. My curiosity was awakened by the colorful society there. The many philosophical viewpoints about life and existence expressed by diverse Indians, and long discussions about universal intelligence drew me towards scholars as well as conversations with ordinary men and women. To satisfy my understanding, I continued my travels into almost every part of India and on into Nepal, studying many people of different faiths in their temples, churches, or mosques, talking with people standing in the fields or under a tree's shade.  I came to realize that a universal intelligence influences us all. Just as all rivers eventually flow into one ocean, the faiths and ideas of man come together.  Thus, if every individual develops peace within her or himself, peace all over the world will have a chance.  My story, “Field of Light” evolved from my spiritual journey.
