About the Book

 Tell Me Colors is a collection of short stories written in rhymes. Each poem contains a unique plot concerning moral principles and centered around a particular color, thus providing children with a wonderful way to not only learn about colors, but also to learn about ethical principles, such as truth, empathy, honesty, diversity, love and even death.

As in the style of Dr. Suess, D.R. Vines captures these topics with creative characters who come to life through the words and beautiful illustrations. This book is certainly a must have for parents who enjoy reading time with their children, from toddler to adolescent.

About the Author

Dr. Danette Rene´ Vines is a professor at McNeese State University in her home town of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Her first book, “In the Mourning,” is a collection of poetry. She enjoys sports, writing and spending time with her family and two dogs, Emmitt and Beaux Dietl.
