He stared at her with open appreciation. Gone were the remains of her adolescence. Her hair was still the golden blonde he had always admired, but it had darkened a shade and was cut shorter then the last time he had seen her. To Sterling it was too sophisticated for the girl whom he had known, but seemed to fit the woman who sat in front of him. Her face was thinner than he remembered as well, with more sharp cheekbones. Her lips were still enticingly full and painted an enticing pink. She was dressed in a dark blue suit from what he could see from where she sat behind the large desk. The suit was the same color as her intoxicating eyes. To Sterling it was a shock to still feel that strong tug of desire just by looking at her, but it was still there, even after all the heart ache she had caused him. For Lauren, Sterling’s presents caused an equally disturbing experience. She had thought that the feelings she once felt for him would have been buried far enough under her broken heart that she wouldn’t feel them anymore. It didn’t appear the heart ever forgot your first love.
