Jennilee will say, “At 2:00 one early morning in November 1976, after living many years in my false self, I found my true self; I surrendered and dedicated my life to God. At the time, I was living in Laguna Beach, California, and this spontaneous, spiritual/mystical experience, through the grace of his Precious Holy Spirit, transformed my life. This experience gave me immediate understanding of the words, Forgiveness, Acceptance, Respect, Dignity, Love, Peace and Joy, in that order.” My life and ministry began from that moment on.”
Jennilee an award winning author, poet, composer, photographer, former actor, and professional singer, began her singing career at age seven on the many stages of Los Angeles and Hollywood theaters. Though very young, during World War II she sang in hospitals, USO’s, and later in nightclubs. After graduating from Catholic Girl’s High School, she took the entrance examinations at U.S.C. and was set to start a college career, when she landed a role in Hollywood’s “Under the Gaslights.” Larry Crosby heard a demo recording of her voice, and he became her agent/manager. She was in the Miss America and Miss Teen-Age America contest. She didn’t win, but later won a National Beauty Contest sponsored by the Hollywood NightLife, which launched a movie career and recording contract. Jennilee quit her career cold, married her childhood sweetheart, and after 32 years, six pregnancies, the marriage was dissolved. After the divorce, Jennilee sought counseling; recognizing that she was naïve regarding the indignities of abuse. Subsequently, her counselor encouraged her to go back to school. She attained three degrees, Doctor of Divinity, Doctor of Naturopathy, and a Doctor of Science in Holistic Theology. Her ministry is a dream come true. One of her quests is to attempt to bring nationalities and creeds together, in acceptance and love. She will tell you that it is sometimes lonely at the computer all day, but that is what God wants of her. Her first book, “Come Feel the Sea,” won an author and book of the year award at her local university and has helped many abused and addicted people.
She was asked why it took so long to do her books. She said, “Though I had been walking with God, God knew that my heart was still in the process of healing and there was still much work to do with my adult children. God was polishing me into a new radiance! He wanted my heart totally opened to His will. Without Jesus, I couldn’t have forgiven what happened to me, nor would I have made the effort to take fifty years of writings and put them on paper. The call to do His music, which took me five years to do, was not an easy task, because I never wrote a note in my life! At the time I met the Lord, my loved ones didn’t understand the change in me. This change in me was a miracle!” Jennilee says, “God, through the kindness of his mercy, always seeks us out. He will forever be with us, under the shadow of his wings.
