    This Endless Wail is the little known story of the Civil War activities in the State of Florida.

    It is a historically correct tale of the turmoil’s and hardships of the salt making operations along the coastal waters of Florida, created to support the Civil War effort. It describes the devastating shortages of the much needed salt, guns, ammunition, medical supplies and other goods because of the naval blockades by the northern naval fleets and of the constant bombardments by these naval fleets to destroy the salt works. The salt makers also suffered incessant inland attacks by the rebellious renegade gangs that hid out in Florida, refusing to fight in the war.

    This is one heroic woman’s journey from being a spoiled southern bell to commanding her own army of laborers, consisting of poverty stricken farmers and slaves who suffered the most devastating hardships in the manufacturing of the much needed salt.

    It tells of the many ordeals and tormenting feelings of despair, that all  people experience, when their world is completely reversed and they must constantly face new challenges in situations they were not prepared for.
