About the Book

The writing of the stories in this book has been my life raft in the biggest storm of my life.  A storm that may very well have pulled me under without my journey into the past keeping me on an even keel.  This book has so many things written into each story.  They are written with love and some of the happiest memories of the past that I can ever begin to recall.  Some with sadness for what once was but will never to be again.  I relate to the people that have read my stories in the small town news paper of which they have been published, because I am one of them.  I cannot tell you how many people have told me how the things I have written have also flooded their heart and souls with memories they thought were long since forgotten.

I am also in the process of writing a novel titled The Good Old Boys Club, Corruption in Small Town America.  I am hoping to have it completed by the end of 2007.

I am presently compiling another book of the Legacy Of Love stories.  One half of those stories will have appeared in the paper and the other half will not have been read until the book is published.  I think every one deserves a surprise.

About the Author

Hi, my name is Kim Harper Crane

Let me give you a little back round as  to how I began writing. The editor of our local small town news paper, The Pendleton Times, in Franklin, West Virginia, came into the office of which I was working at that time and ask me to take over a column of a very popular gentlemen that had recently retired.  I ask if I could change the format of the article, and see what the editor and the public thought.  Much to my suprise it was a hit.

I have published the first 50 of those articles in this book.  Many are remberances of times spent with my Grandparents, who did everything the old fashioned way.  Others are about my childhood.

Now, let me tell you somethng about me.  I was born and raised in these beautiful mountains I write about.  Everything I write about, I lived that with those I love.  Some I have loved and lost but for a while others are still close by my side.  Writing has become a passion for me, it takes me away from the cares of today and back to the happiness of a past everyone should have the pleasure to live.

My home is deep within the mountain and is tucked within the trees where it can not be seen.  I was lucky enough to marry the most wonderful kind, compassionate, caring man that I will ever know.  We share our lives with two labs, two horses, one cat, eleven chickens and one very nervous rooster.

For the most part ours is a very simple life and that is exactly how we like it to be.  Hussle and bussle is not for me.  I prefer the defining quite of my West Virginia home.
