About the Book
In this collection of commentaries, award-winning Texas columnist John Young, a liberal in the heart of Bush Country, calls on fellow free thinkers to arise from their slumber. He unloads on wars based on bogus claims, "government run as a business," standardized testing in schools, homophobia, and the quest to take away women’s reproductive rights. From his vantage point in “Greater Crawford” — Waco, Texas — Young also gives some sparkling insight into community groupthink and the experiences of those who dare to go against the grain and against George Bush's policies.
