The Cockroach That Loved Me
Little cockroach in the light away you scurry.
Away from the sole of my shoe you go in a hurry.
For you my friend I have but one wish.
I wish for you to be squished.
One night while asleep in my bed,
Little cockroach climbed up upon my head.
She danced a la cucaracha dance on the rim of my ear,
Then climbed down my ear canal and stuck out her rear.
Perhaps I felt it move in my ear,
Or perhaps I sensed my ear could not hear,
But I was now awake in the night,
And knew that something was not quite right.
Suddenly I realized that my ear was plugged.
Then I reached up and it felt like a bug.
I grabbed ahold and gave it a tug,
But little cockroach would simply not budge … ugh!
I squeezed harder hoping the bug would not burst,
And pulled little cockroach prepared for the worst.
Out the bug slid, much to my pleasure,
But now what would I do with my six legged treasure?
I was tired; I did not want to make a big fuss;
By going to the bathroom, turning on the lights, and giving it a flush.
All the commotion would leave me wide awake.
So that’s when I made a decision that would turn out to be a mistake.
Exterminating little cockroach was the first part of the plan.
