Footprints
The soft shimmer of sand
Stretching out for eternity
A warm sun on our backs
And a handful of birds soaring overhead
Following the footprints of invisible seagulls
That lead us to the sparkling waters edge,
And then dancing away from the waves
As they wash too close to our feet
Mind and soul quenched by the sheer thrill and magic
Of seeking out the soft sand using only toes as a guide
With the excited squeaks of delight
From the joyful children on either side
Such absolute beauty around
And complete fulfilment within.
And why should this be?
Perhaps sometimes two footprints just aren’t enough

About the Author
At twenty years old this is my first foray into the world of publishing, my first book "Out of Season" is a unique combination of poetry and imagery, with a strong nautical current flowing throughout. The search for inner peace and tranquillity is at the very soul of this journey. This is a book as much for a bleak winters afternoon as for a lazy summers day. The books inspiration has come largely from my home town, Chichester, and in particular the perfect retreat "East Head" nestled just inside the beautiful natural harbour.
