Still dazzled by the bright light of the apparition, Juan made his way along the causeway leading to the city built in the middle of a lagoon. He was sure that the bishop would be most happy to hear what the Mother of God wanted him to do. Still full of wonder, he knocked at the door of the bishop's courtyard and waited for someone to answer.
The bishop was a very busy man. He had little time for small matters. It was late in the afternoon before Juan could speak to the bishop. Juan told him word for word what the Blessed Mother had said.

About the Book
The beautiful, simple story of Juan Diego and how he encounters the Blessed Virgin Mary on his way to Mass one cold December morning, is told in a loving manner by the author Elizar Torres. It is a story of how heaven views the virtue of humility, some say the most endearingf virtue of all the virtues. Humility is what permits us to kneel before the cross of Christ and say , "Forgive me. I am sorry."
This story is told for children and young adults of all ages. The drawings by the artist Joel Ramirez are superb and are done with much attention to details.
About the Author
Elizar Torres is the author of several historical books for young readers. His most recent book will be published in the fall. It is called TheTrue Story of Cinco de Mayo. He is a retired teacher and finds alot of satisfaction penning stories of local lore for young readers.
