About the Book

Sometimes the smallest act can become the greatest deed.  There’s nothing as simple as a hug.  With a hug two people can convey so many meanings: a hello, a good-bye, joy, sadness, forgiveness, love….a hug can be a fleeting moment, a hug can be remembered for a lifetime.  But what if you faced a lifetime of never sharing a hug again, never, ever again?  Such was the danger facing a Boy, a Boy stuck inside a great, big, beautiful Bubble.  He just realizes his predicament when a Girl’s caring and love sees him through.  A hug can also mean a Happy Ending.  Just Hug A Bubble helps us remember to care and to hug.

About the Author

This is the first published children’s book by Phil Canalin, who was nicknamed 'Bubbles' in school (which really has nothing to do with the title of this story, but he does welcome hugs of all kinds).  He is still doling out free hugs in Alameda, California, where he lives with his wife and high-school love, Sue, and their two daughters, Jessica and Kelsey.  He has known illustrator, brother Ed, all of Ed's life.  Phil is currently working on another children’s book, Fish On!, and a novel, Adult League Softball: A Gentleman’s Drinking Game.  Although Phil is a fiscal officer in the Alameda County Public Health Department, writing constantly interrupts his life and consumes his time, like an itch that he can’t quite reach and just won’t go away, but feels so pleasant to scratch.
