Witch

Boisterous laughter comes from an adjoining building above Sarah as a private party consisting of boys only continues. Harsh language accompanied by cold liquor is consumed in less-than-moderate proportions as bottle after bottle is flung to neighboring rooftops.

Sarah doesn’t have to wait much longer. She notices a long bed similar to the one at the warehouse that provided the young for her salvation. This bed, though, has a larger person lying on top of it. A white sheet covers the silent body extending from the neck down to the figure’s feet and carefully it is loaded into the back of the vehicle with the Red Cross.

Sarah watches the actions below, waiting patiently for the vehicle with the Red Cross and flashing red lights on top to begin its journey again. Hoping it will lead her to the place that Susan wanted her to go. Knowing more lifeblood is needed.

Her sisters are counting on her this last night of the full moon. Freedom must be achieved tonight at all costs. No one must intervene with Susan’s plan, or they shall all die a horrible death. Even Sarah’s afraid of failure, for it is Susan who holds all the power.

An unholy power she can use to end the struggles of their salvation and reunite with sisters long ago. Susan must cast the spells that will release the devil’s disciples so they can again plague the world. Change the world from self-righteousness into unholy terror. No one but the seven shall be in power, unless Susan elects others into their coven. If not, they shall slay them all.

Sarah, lost in her own thoughts as she continues to fly above watching the scene below, screams out in pain as a bottle strikes the back of her neck. Losing control of her flier, she crashes into one of the tall buildings and begins to fall.

Her pet pins Sarah against the wall and holds her steady. Sarah, looking five stories down, snarls back up at the rooftop where three young adults are positioned. All three teenagers look across at the building where Sarah precariously hangs, their jaws open with fear, realizing what they thought was a big bird, wasn’t.

Sarah climbs back on her stick and furiously flies toward the three pranksters as each one backs to the middle of the rooftop. They watch the avenging woman fly directly toward them, accompanied by her flying primate. The three youths discard the remaining portion of their beer, tossing it at both figures as they run toward the only escape route known.

Quickly the boys reach the door leading down into the confines, which they believe will provide a safe habitat necessary to escape the wrath of this wild-eyed green woman perched on top of a flying broom. The first boy reaching the closed door yells to his friend, last in line, to duck, as he looks over his shoulder while prying the door open. The flying pet crashes into the half opened door as it flies past the youth that listened to his friend’s command.

Settling upon the rooftop, Sarah Wildes smiles at the three lost souls, while each fights their turn for entry through the open door, their drunken state now sober.

Sarah walks back and forth, her reptilian fingers clutching her flying stick as she watches the young misfits stumble over each other, frightened out of their life. Saliva steadily drips over her long chin, accompanied with a lone wart, and her eyes continue to burn blood-red. Her pet remains unmoving on the floor of the rooftop after flying into the half open door with the speed of a battering ram.

Sirens are heard in the distance as Sarah madly smiles at the boys and returns to her first task. Sarah mounts her long stick, paying no more attention to the pranksters as she does her fallen sidekick. Hastily, Sarah flies into the night hoping her task will quickly come to an end. My sister, Sarah thinks, shall have what she asked for within the hour. She again, will be reunited with those she has long missed.

The boys stop their fighting as the deranged wicked woman leaves the rooftop. Her sudden descent leaves them with a sense of hope, where in its place at one time was certain death.

Cautiously the teens cross the rooftop and lean over the edge, making sure of what they had witnessed was true. All three boys watch as a green woman on a broom flies swiftly through the night searching below for a vehicle with wailing red lights attached to its roof. Their sense of triumph is quickly extinguished by the abrupt, loud, guttural, shrieking scream from behind.
