The next morning Luke had woken up in a bad mood. He refused to take any of his inhalers and when his mum started to tell him off for not doing as he was told, he started throwing himself on the floor and screaming his head off. He was determined not to take his inhalers.
Meanwhile, a few houses down the road, Hayden had just finished take all of his inhalers, he was sitting down having his breakfast and his mum allowed him to watch TV at the same time.
Time was getting on in Luke’s house and he was still not going to take his inhalers. His mum told him that if he didn’t take his inhalers he would be going to school with no breakfast, his reply was “I’m not hungry anyway”.
Luke’s mum picked up his bag, placing his blue inhaler into the bag. There was a loud beep outside, it was Hayden and his mum ready to take Luke to school.
Luke’s mum kissed him goodbye and reminded him that his inhaler was in his bag if he needed it. Luke waved goodbye and climbed into the car. There was another beep as the car turned the corner.

About the Book
Best Friends Forever is based on a True Story.
My son Luke had suffered with Asthma all of his llife, it what caused his unfortunate death in 2004.
As there are thousands of children admitted to hospital through asthma attacks which the majority of them could be avoided I decided to write a children’s story about two boys who both suffer with Asthma, one of the boys Hayden takes all of his inhalers on a regular basis and Luke who doesn’t like taking his brown inhaler and will do anything he can to get out of taking it.
The two boys have a few adventures together and the book tells how Asthma affects both of the boys.
