To meet Jack you would never guess he had ever been locked up for a crime. Now 51, his gentle nature and enticing personality wins a person over. The question everyone always asked was how such an adorable little boy could grow up to be such a terrible son to two parents who only loved him and wanted the best for Jack, his brother and sister. Parents who for whatever reason adopted three children from separate families and raised them in a good upper middle class Catholic home. Provided them everything they could ever need growing up. He appeared to be a normal child at home, school and out in public but his mother often told people he was sickly as a baby and rocked his head back and forth all the time. His grades were average and he had a personality that would charm and entice a person to really like him. He could have been the All American and accomplished anything in life that he desired. The only concern his parents had was his very creative imagination when they began seeing some signs of his ability to tell stories that were not completely true. But he was just a child with an overactive imagination. Or so they thought. Entering the 4th grade something just came over him that altered his life forever. It occurred one cold snowy day after school let out at Sacred Heart Elementary. Jack just didn’t go home that day. He found himself walking the streets of Charleston WV with nowhere to go or even understand why he had not gone home. A little boy wandering around a city for hours in the dark until his father somehow found him before the police did. Dad broke down and cried as he hugged his son and took him home. Never understanding why his little boy just took off without warning and tried to disappear. His father knew the dangers that could have befallen young Jack out on the streets by himself. No one could fully explain it then or now, not even Jack. But that one incident was the beginning of a long history of running away, committing crimes, ruining the lives of friends or strangers and causing his parents and family so much embarrassment and shame that can never be imagined. Running away from home became more frequent and each time he would leave, a life of crime began to surface more and more as it became his existence and way of survival growing up. As an adult, Jack's life became even more impulse driven, reckless and bizarre as his world crossed paths with celebrities, politicians and even high-ranking officials who will not soon forget their face to face encounters with him. It is accepted in society that a person’s life, goals, and destiny can be forever altered in the blink of an eye due to a physical injury or health issues that we can actually see or touch. This same thing can occur to children, teens, and adults in their thought processes that you cannot see. Their lives can also change in that same blink of an eye or over a short period of time. When looking back over Jacks entire life there is only one question? How can one man from rural West Virginia cross so many paths with such a diverse group of peers, friends and enemies across the United States? Or have they all somehow been entwined together for some unforeseen reason that has caused his life to be such an incredible but destructive journey. His actions have demolished the careers and lives of people who have abused their authority against him and others. And, he has selflessly exposed his own self to ridicule, incarceration, poverty and even attempts on his own life because of it. What began as one man's desire to just write his true memoirs in an effort to gain national attention for psychological disorders, has evolved into an embarrassing chain of sordid events that some celebrities, politicians and even government agencies will try to deny, but can't. About the Author
Jack Swint was not an author by trade. His writing technique has been quoted by readers as "terse and powerful with few wasted words" "A raw nature". After 30 years of leading a self-destructive lifestyle, he was diagnosed with both obsessive & impulsive behavior along with a borderline personality disorder that contributed to his behavior. Now working within the news media industry Jack exposes his own mistakes in hopes of helping others. Speaking out to parents, doctors and the courts of the effects that these disorders can have if gone undiagnosed. Illnesses that effected his family, marriages, and countless jobs including a career as a police officer. Ultimately, if gone undetected his destructive lifestyle could have cost him his life.
His credentials are the most intriguing part of this novel due to the fact that Jack's own life is the essence and soul of this book. Reliving the true life experiences in order to tell this story has taken its own toll in having to once again face his own demons and the tremendous pain and suffering that his family, friends and enemies also lived through. There really is no one other then Jack who can better tell this story in his own thoughts and words. No professional writer could walk in the same footsteps to portray a man who has been said to have lived ten lives, in just one.
