     Debra has logged nearly 60,000 hours in her spiritual travels for this book, and shared with people from various social backgrounds who are living their own lifestyles and practicing their own personal beliefs.  This is the beginning of another -but not so ordinary-journey for Debra and all spiritual travelers. Her book includes short stories, devotionals, meditations, prayers, reasonings, praises, and salutations-words that are spiritually infused with the life changing power to address current social and spiritual issues.  

 


About the Author

     At age seven, Christ Jesus, became Debra Patterson's Champion!  Since then, Debra's interest in community and family development has led to an endless career in social services:  as an educator, social worker, rehabilitation counselor, alcohol and drug abuse counselor, compulsive gambling counselor, and support coordinator.  Her interest in human empowerment, under God's leadership, is the basis of the "The Spirit of the Afterbirth and the After Birth of the Holy Spirit."  

     Debra completed her primary and secondary education while attending public school in Northwest Louisiana.  She later received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, Louisiana.  Debra is a registered social worker and board-certified by the Louisian State Board for Certification of Substance Abuse Counselors (LSBCSAC) in the treatment of addictive diseases and compulsive gambling.  She is a member of the Shreveport-Bossier organization, Substance Abuse Counselors (SACO); has served on the Chair Committe; has participated in Louisiana Annual Women's Enrichment Conference; and has participated in the Louisiana Association of Substance Abuse Counselors and Trainers (LASACT) annual conference.  Debra resides in Northwest Louisiana and currently serves as a family support coordinator, providing support to families with individuals having developmental disabilites.
