About the Book
Most of my poems are born out of my experiences through life and have always felt that I can convey and express my feeling in poetry.
They give me a sense of peace, love and happiness even though some might not seem this way.
Within this book are mostly poems about friends and family of whom I have had the greatest fortune to have known. They have inspired me in such a way that I have been able to write from the heart and had this wonderful opportunity to produce this book.
I hope you enjoy the poetry contained within and that it might encourage you to write from your own experiences as I have.
I would like to dedicate this book to Terry – who has always been there for me since the day we met.
So if you feel happy or sad, write a poem.

About the Author
Ruth Bray - Author
The uncompleted poem, I have finished and entered within this book in fond memory of her. She was a lovely sultry person whom I had great respect for and is the person who inspired me to write poetry.
Even from my younger days I have a fond recollection of events and memories which have enthused some writing, but particularly my teenage years.
As a youngster I always had a quiet and timid personality and was a deep thinker and I feel it was this that paved the way for me to write although English was not reputed to be my favourite subject!
Now I’m nearly fifty, I consider how lucky I have been in my life and want to give something back to others. The first reason is for people to enjoy reading my book and the other is to pass on the royalties from the book to a very deserving charity.
This charity I have chosen is the NACC or National Association for Colitis and Crohn’s Disease. They are both inflammatory bowel diseases, although Crohn’s can affect other areas and Colitis only affects the large bowel. Sufferers have to stay on permanent medication and the condition is currently incurable.
As a close relative of one sufferer from ulcerative colitis – this charity is indeed, close to my heart.
