What is this book all about?
Even the most experienced presenters get anxious before they speak. Will they be effective? Will they be able to convey their message? How will the audience respond? If only there was a way to absolutely ensure that your presentation would be successful.
We believe there is. The success of your presentation should not be a chance event, but a collection of processes that gives you the greatest probability of accomplishing your objective.
Throughout this book, we will explore basic — but critical — steps and processes that, when followed, will give you the tools to be successful in your next presentation opportunity. Our goal is to focus on direct and simple methods that almost any speaker can use to conduct clear but effective presentations.
Who are we?
This book is written by three guys who have spent a number of years in the trenches. We are not professors, nor do we make our livings delivering speeches. We work in professions that, like so many others in this world, require us to give presentations on a regular basis. As we witness the quality of presentations at conferences, training sessions, and other professional settings, we feel there is a need for improvement. We want to help.
How will this book help you?
Dynamic speakers are usually credited with some innate ability to connect with their audience and deliver inspiring messages. These intangible abilities are looked on as individual personality traits, usually bestowed at birth, that allow these people to be effective. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Delivering an effective presentation is part message, part organization, part preparation, and part personality, but all of it learned. Conveying an inspiring and effective message is not reserved for only the gifted. It is a learned skill that can be mastered by anyone who is willing to put the time and effort into studying the craft.
Much has been written on how to give effective professional presentations. What this book offers is sound, practical advice from people who have been there. The chapters of this book include plenty of advice on small steps to take, as well as more complicated techniques for effective presentations.
We suggest you read sequentially through the chapters. However, if you look at the table of contents and see a chapter that hits home to you, feel free to start there.

Kameron H. McQuay CPA/ABV, CVA is a principle and owner with the public accounting firm of Blue & Co., LLC in their healthcare practice. A frequent presenter at local and regional conferences, Kam’s dynamic, humorous style encourages class participation and interaction. A powerful speaker whose personality holds his audience, Kam specializes in delivering technical, content rich programs, in a fun, inspirational and motivational style that will leave the group entertained, challenged and never the same. While Kam delivers more than 50 presentations per year, he maintains an ongoing client base of physicians, dentists and hospitals providing general financial, tax and consulting support.
Kam, Born in Chicago, Illinois, has a B.S. degree from the University of Evansville, and currently resides in Carmel, Indiana with his wife Debbie and their two children.

Rick Drumm is a Professional Engineer who has been a highway engineer for that past 14 years. He has a BS in Civil Engineering from
