About the Author

LaRoy Seaver graduated with distinction from the University of Nebraska in 1948 with  majors in English and sociology.  He graduated from Union Theological Seminary in New York City in 1952, writing his thesis on "Salvation: in Psychotherapy and Christian Theology".   He has written over a thousand sermons, an occasional poem and a number of secular addresses.  Pastoral Psychology magazine published his report on a study of counseling needs in a rural community .
  He has had a life-long interest in rural community life.  Auburn Seminary awarded him the Maxwell Fellowship for advanced rural church study  in 1952.  In 1979 the SUN Newspapers of Omaha, Nebraska, recognized him as an "Omahan of the Year" for his work in neighborhood development.
