As history was always a favorite subject, my hobbies include reading – historical novels, sewing, travel and photography. Some years ago I was lucky enough to win First Prize at the Fall River Art Association for a group of three photos I called “The Best of Switzerland.”
For thirty-two years I was employed as a clerk-typist at the Fall River School Department and retired about ten years ago.
My mother instilled in me a love of poetry at an early age. She was always interested in any new poems or songs I learned at school and could quote Longfellow or Whittier, stanza by stanza.
My father could be depended on for stories. He had two imaginary little girls – “Betty and Kate” – and would tell me of their adventures at the park or with a new sled, etc. Also about the Army and how he saw the sunrise over the Blue Ridge Mts. I was awakened once or twice at
My mother and I loved to travel. We took bus tours and independent tours.
When I learned to drive we headed for
I love animals – all animals – but I do have a special feeling for cats. I admire their graceful movements, their companionship, and yes, their sense of humor. They can give you a lift and a laugh. I appreciate the unconditional love they return to you for the home that you share with them.
