I want to cry

with the amount of times I’ve been slapped
I’d gasp for air
and
tears would come crawling

the blows have made me numb
I can not feel
I have no emotions
Life has bent me over
and taken advantage of me

in situations like this

About the Book
The compilation of words in this book are almost undefined—some say they are poems, others see them as lyrics. In a few instances they seem to be short stories. No matter how you view them, they are simply words strung together. The goal is to share a moment of time in this journey called, “life.” Creation dates are noted because the author felt each work deserved a sort of “birthday” or historical reference. Like an epiphany, or a word often used but never fully understood, it’s hoped that each “story” will have a different meaning to you throughout your lifetime, throughout your exploration…throughout your constant search for truth.
About the Author
An award winning writer, John’s journey of truth has led him in many directions. A few of the stops along his way have included a career in San Francisco Bay Area radio (KGO, KABL, KNEW, KQKE, KKIS, KRCB). He served on the Redevelopment Advisory Committee for the City of Concord, California (appointed 1989-91) and was on the Board of Directors for the Willows Theatre Company (1995-97). John also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from
