About the Book

He flung her to the shadows and heard her body smack as she hit the wall of the cave then fall to the damp floor.  He stood with his foot on her back while he bent to light a torch so he could see her face.  He didn't trust being with someone who could cause a King to go mad and kill his own people.  What would she try to do to him, now that she knew he meant to kill her?  He lit the torch and the wood he had placed there earlier in prepraration for this moment.  He then stood up, drew his dagger out of his girdle, turned to cut her throat so she would die quickly, and saw Rebecca.  Not a witch, but the girl he had carried home years ago.

About the Author

Mother of 5 children, grandmother of 7.  Born in St. Louis, MO,  in 1948, to a family of Ministers and/or Evangelist that included my parents, Grandparent, Aunts and Uncles.  My grandmother was the first to see my potential as a story teller.  She was a school teacher and a Lady Evangelist who established a church in Carbondale, IL.  I heard Bible stories all my life, but my grandmother told them in a way that you lived the experience with the subjects she talked about.  I too told stories, and was believed until proven different, then promptly spanked.  It was grandma who defended me, and told the family I was a very gifted child and should be encouraged to write my tales, but to understand it was imagination and not real.

I survived two abusive marriages, the second one leaving me with an injury to my neck due to an attempted strangling.  Very poor and with five children to raise, we couldn't afford television, so I often made up stories to entertain my children.  I worked two jobs, and put myself through Junior College where I graduated and obtained my Associates of Arts Degree.  I enrolled in a College to get my Bachelors Degree, but had to leave to earn money to feed and put my children through school.

Now I am older, the children are grown, and this is my last chance to share with the world the stories that live in my mind.  They say to write about what you know.  At my age I know and have experienced a lot.  There are many stories I have inside.  This story is from happier days with my grandmother and I dedicate this to her memory
