The Knave bowed down with a cocky grin.
“Fine day, my Queen! Is the good King in?”

He wrinkled his nose. “That smell is delicious!”
“The King is not here! Sir Knave you must leave!
I know your intentions! I am not deceived!”
The Knave assumed a shocked expression.
“My good Queen! Tis by my own confession!
I’ve come for your tarts many times, tis true.
And I still crave your tarts. Tis also true.
I may be a knave, though never a fool!
I’ve not come for your tarts! I’ve come for you!”

About the Author
S.A. Holley was raised in Duncan, Oklahoma. She enjoyed band and sports. She didn't take up with writing until she was 25 years old, and found she had a genuine love for poetry in rhyme and decided to combine it with her love of nursery rhymes. She now resides in Drumright, Oklahoma with her husband and three children. When she is not writing, she enjoys working in her gardens with her husband and swimming with her children.
