About the Author
Brian Ford-Powell was born near St. Helen’s, and a number of his childhood years were spent during the Second World War. He completed his National Service in the Royal Air Force and, for a shirt period, saw active service in

A long association with the game of football has seen him a class-one referee, Referee’s Assessor, Chairman of a Referee’s Society, Vice-President of a local league, Chairman of a Charity Football Association and Chairman of a non-league football club. His voice is well known to BBC Radio Leicester listeners, over a period of almost, two decades, as a regular contributor on non-league football.

Whilst the bulk of his work falls into the Humorous, Philosophical and Romantic categories, the author’s involvement with the worlds of business, church and faith, together with football, broadcasting (and the stage), are all reflected, at some point, in his poetry.
Brian is married to Daphne. They have three children, the eldest, Ann, is a Senior Practice Development Fellow in Mental Health with the Royal College of Nursing.
