In every trapped little girl or boy, there’s a need to be freed
In every hand, there’s an invitation of sister and brotherhood
In every step taken, is a step closer, to being understood
In every twinkle of the eyes, is a bright and shining star
In every background, there’s a history of how you’ve come so far
In every human being, there’s something given to them in measure
In everyone true, there’s one pleased to have found this treasure
In every tear,

In every hand

In every background or human being
Is just a part of a bigger picture, than what our eyes are seeing
In every body and soul, our eyes have looked upon
Is a light that will guide and love us, if we remember to keep it on

About the Book
The journey began with pen in hand, and a piece of paper, that became my stage to act out my feelings and finally giving my pain a name. That pain started at the age of four.
So many have helped me in my journey to finding myself. Aunt Deborah, My children, the late, but beautiful Aaliyah, a few others, and my biggest inspiration then and now, Miss Janet Jackson herself.
I pray the reader will walk this journey with me, and celebrate the pain, the emotion, as well as the triumphs. I encourage all to discover themselves internally...to find healing eventually. You're not alone.
About the Author
She was four years old when the world would let her down. Her protectors let abuse in, and before long, withdrawal, depression, and destruction would be the expressions used to describe this once vibrant little girl. She created a world deep within herself where no one was hurting her.
Her eyes could see, but hands could not touch, the one person she felt knew her, and could hear all of her silent cries of pain. Armed with only her vocabulary, and the inspiration of one, she soon discovered how to deal with all she was facing, and had encountered in the past.
It was now time to let her words speak for her, and give a demonstrative performance of her gift; the gift of poetry and song.
And soon, the God she had heard of all of her life, was the God she'd come to know for herself.
