What a splendid day it was in Oak-Wood wood. The sun spread its rays of light and warmth across the luscious green grass, and beads of rain water sparkled with radiance upon the oiled leaves, which held on to the branches of the trees. Starlings sang about the sweet smell of apples and blackberries that lingered through the air. Even the moon was there to watch the excitement of the busy day. The mice were building houses, schools and a town hall clock, and each building had been made from straw.
