My Town, Yucaipa
Yucaipa is the place to live today
Its atmosphere makes you want to stay
It’s growing up by leaps and bounds
And really becoming a large town
Why is Yucaipa growing so much?
It’s a country town with a friendly touch
It sits on a hill and has good fresh air
You can see valleys from everywhere
Traffic jams now, we see a lot
And a sewer system we just got
Shopping malls too, have been built
More construction is going on yet
When completed, how big will it be?
We’ll just have to wait and see
A drive to other cities is not far away
If you like to shop you can make it a day
Mobile home living is the style here today
More Senior Citizens are living here to stay
Their social security checks just pay their rent
So commodities we have for them to get
The “Meals on Wheels” come right to their door
In many parks, they can walk to the stores
There are Marketeers, you might see them around
But it’s too dangerous now, to drive them into town
Our “Yucaipa Valley Days” are always fun
Come see our displays, and sit in the sun
The merchants in town all meet this day
Many people visit from far away
There will be a band, and gifts for you to take
And food for you to eat ‘till you get a stomach ache
