About the Book

One of the many grace gifts received by sinners when they become saints through the miracle of a spiritual birth is the gift of glory.  The Apostle Paul rejoiced in this truth when he declared, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory to be revealed to us (Romans 8:15).”  He further explains that this glory will be realized when believers will be “conformed to the image of His Son (Romans 8:29) and is unconditionally guaranteed by God to come to pass (Romans 8:30).”  Thus, being glorified is a journey from the new birth in Christ to the New Jerusalem.

In this book, this journey takes place in a series of seven “days”:

Day One-

Day Two-

Day Three-

Day Four-

Day Five-

Day Six-

Day Seven-

Dear reader:  don’t miss any longer the spiritual joy and comfort of God’s future glory plans for His children.

About the Author

My name is Charles E. Hood, Jr.  I am an 87 year old retired Southern Baptist Pastor.  I currently live at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center, in Laurens, S. C. with my wife, Bette.

My Biography

(selected)

I was born in Slidell, Louisiana on Feb. 23, 1919.

I was born again and called by God to be a “preacher” when I was 9 years old.

We moved to New Orleans, LA in Feb. 1933.

I graduated from Warren Easton Bap. High School in 1936.

I graduated from Louisiana College, Peneville with a B.A. in 1940.

I graduated from Baptist Bible Institute, New Orleans (currently New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary) in 1944 with Th.M. degree.

I pastored three Baptist churches in Louisiana before moving to South Carolina in Sept. 1946.

In S.C., I pastored several churches, but two are of special importance relating to this current publication effort.

1.  I served Kirby Memorial Baptist Church in Gaffney, S.C. for two separate periods.  The first was for 5 years, and I later returned to serve for 14 more years.  On my second “tour”, I organized a “Church Training Institute,” and I taught the classes on a college level.  One of my students was given college credit for courses I taught.  This church later elected me Pastor Emeritus.

2.  At Edwards Road Baptist Church in Greenville, S.C.  I served there for two years as Minister of Senior Adults.  In connection with this, I began conducting Saturday seminars on various subjects.  Several of these were on views of heaven.  These served as a basis for my current book, Seven Day Journey Into Glory.

After retirement and moving to my current residence, I self-published two small booklets:

Victory in Marriage

The Heavenly Host and Angels

That’s about all I have to offer.  If more required, I will have to give up - maybe.
