The phrase “Hind sight is twenty-twenty” is used to describe the regret when faced with the harsh reality that a particular choice made was a huge mistake. Most certainly, if given the chance to choose over, one would reverse the decision, vastly changing the outcome.
The words “ignorance is bliss” can be described as the state of placidity, when not exposed to certain information that could irreversibly change life as you know it, and cannot be fully understood unless placed in that very position.
When the day is done, and you find yourself at home sitting in your favorite comfortable chair contemplating those two particular phrases, it is at that precise moment you realize the error in your judgment…. And what’s more … your ultimate judgment!!
Chapter 5
This was the day which was the determining factor in all our lives. Although Steve, Jason and I were oblivious to each other’s situations,
Jason and Cindy were on their way to see Dr. Farrow, to find out if in fact they were going to have a baby. Steve and his father Jim were on their way back to the oil rig. As always, Jim was flapping away about the winning touchdown pass he threw to Dave Henderson to win the state championship. Steve was all the while trying desperately to wake up from a long night with Ann. Meanwhile, I was hastily making my way over to Mr. Burns’ office. We had discussed the possibility of him representing me earlier that week. He told me to just walk on in when I was ready for him. Well, that time was at hand. I opened the door to his office and walked in.
“Good morning, is Mr. Burns in?” I asked.
“Good morning, yes he is,” his secretary Jessica replied. “Mr. James isn’t it?”
“Why, yes,” I replied with a note of amazement.
I had only talked with her for a minute or two five days earlier and she had remembered my face and my name. I was quite impressed.
“Mr. Burns had told me to just come down when I needed him, and I really need him,” I continued.
Jessica smiled at me as she reached for the phone sitting to her left. However, before she could pick it up, Mr. Burns came out of his office and walked up to me with his hand out and said “Good morning Mike. How are you this fine morning?”
Grinning from ear to ear, I answered “Just peachy Mr. Burns, just peachy!”
“Well, then, why don’t we go back to my office and we can discuss how I can help you.”

When Mike Robert James completed his security program, never in his wildest dreams could he imagine the unsuspected flurry of events that would catapult him towards the utmost critical decision a man could possibly face. About the Author
Mark has lived a hard and rather difficult life. Growing up on the wrong side of the tracks, where the struggle to simply ‘just get by’ took more than mere luck. His brand of reasoning was often mistaken as harsh or even callous at times, however, he always stood true for what he perceived as right and justly. A father of four that unfortunately had no time to enjoy the everyday interacting with his wife and kids, as he drove a truck all over God’s green earth to provide his family with their daily needs, and his patrons with their daily goods. With his oldest son now eighteen, having been diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at the age of thirteen, gave Mark an understanding for the need to help out. That is why Mark has decided to donate 10% of his royalties from his books to the Juvenile Diabetes Society. Although he may look like a grizzly bear, a teddy bear would be more accurate.
