About the Book

Lue Koroluck (pen name “Grammy Lue”) was inspired to write a story about a real turtle that her grandson Danny found in a creek when he was a young lad. He noticed it only one toe on it’s right front foot. He brought the turtle home to try and help it. He dug out a small pond for the turtle. After about three years, the turtle seemed not to respond it its care. It was then taken to a small lake nearby and released. It’s speedy escape into the water was a joy to behold.

The story is in a poem form. It is a fictional story about a real turtle. It is a “READ ME”; “COLOR ME” book with the story on one side and a corresponding picture on the other side. Read the story then color it your way. Have FUN.

About the Author

Lue Koroluck was born and grew up on a farm in New York state. At age 21 she married and had three children. The family moved to California in 1967. She continued her employment with the General Electric Company. After moving to California, she tried to make up for all of the things she missed growing up on a farm in New York during WWII.

She learned to play tennis, golf, and skiing. Went on many bicycle trips, and many hikes. Her favorite (and hardest) hikes were up Mount Whitney and White Mountain. She was fortunate enough to take many trips to different parts of the world. The most favored one was to Easter Island. That was one of her dreams.

During her lifetime she wrote many poems. Some were saved in a book, others were lost or discarded. Publishing anything never crossed her mind.

She retired after twenty eight years with the company. She remained active. Now “old father time” is catching up with her. Now she has time to think, remember, dream, and try new ventures. She enrolled in Erna Hoylers writing class for Seniors and learned that learning never stops. It is an option.
