About the Book

In our story, we will travel from Los Angeles to Las Vegas in a CARZ CARZ rental car. During its travels, we will meet an unrestricted, fun-loving gambler and his brother, an underworld executive. Other interesting characters appearing in the story’s scenes will be a lonely evangelist preacher, and a pretty feminine well meaning and sensitive philanderer. The cast will also include simpleton-like shylock hoods, and elderly retired union treasurer, now turned a senior playboy and his doting wife. You will also meet a group of bikers who convince themselves to rob a bank, the act of which, becomes a comical disaster. You will “see” a motor cycle race, a horse race,  some interesting gambling, a love affair,  money changes, and the interesting travels of a corpse. It is all for the sheer entertainment of it. And that’s what it is, reading entertainment, a virtual movie, pure and simple!

About the Author

At about thirteen years of age Winfield spent many summer afternoons telling impromptu adventurous stories to six to eight year old neighborhood children. Their wide eyed intense interest nurtured a persuasive inner desire to write fictional stories. But, it was not to be. His excellent education formed a strong foundation of learning skills that carried him successfully through another career desire, that of performing in the field of aeronautics. Having satisfied much of his aeronautical career needs, the author, in his retirement, set out on his venture to write fiction. This is revealed in his simple but direct approach to quick action without the use of excessive, around the mountain, wordy descriptions. He drives directly through the story with just enough descriptive passages to form the basis for the readers to paint the detailed mental picture to their own preference and liking.
