INTRODUCTION
In all Christian believers’ lives, there are natural and spiritual challenges that we face every day. When facing the trials that life may bring, it is not always easy to stand tall and face those trials head on. There may be times when we face those difficult moments that we fall flat on our faces. When those difficult times come, it may seem like there is absolutely no possible way of overcoming them. As we face those challenges, one of my purposes for writing this book is to share with you that “falling down” is something that we all do at various times in our human life. Even though we sometimes fall, it is also my desire to help you to understand that you do not have to stay down. Through the power of God and the witness of Job, I want to give you perspective on getting up and standing tall when we face those trials that come into our lives. I believe that life should be a wonderful experience for us as God’s people. I also believe that God wants his people to prosper and succeed in all things. Many people, in general, find themselves enjoying exciting and prosperous times in their lives. On the other hand, there are some that face difficult and depressing situations in their lives and see no hope of coming out. As we look at the life of Job and the life of Job Titus Cannon, it is my goal to encourage you that you, too, can have victory in life’s most challenging moments.
The man in the person of Job was a very successful man, but he found himself in extremely difficult situations in his life. One strange part about his struggles was that he was a very righteous man and had a very close relationship with God. Not only was Job righteous, but he was a very wealthy man. The book of Job mentions that he was the richest man in the East. I, too, a person by the name of Job—Job Titus Cannon—have found myself in very difficult and challenging moments in my personal and spiritual life. But through my dependence on God’s strength, I was able to stand tall in many of my most challenging moments. I by no means am trying to compare myself to Job’s spiritual life as a person who was perfect and upright, but I have been a born-again believer since the age of seventeen. I admit that there were times that I fell really hard in temptations, trials, and some challenges in my life. There were many times that, after I tried to get up, I didn’t know whether I was coming or going. I sometimes felt like I was in a heavyweight fight with my opponents being Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, and Evander Holyfield collectively. God allowed me to suffer many trials in my life, but through my faith in him, he eventually gave me victory over those challenges. Through the many examples of Job, myself, and others, I am encouraging you to stand tall in the trials that come into your life.

Everything that Job has and everything that he knows is destroyed. Job’s faith is challenged. As a result of Job’s challenges, he is forced to reevaluate everything he thought he was. He realized that it was easy to be faithful and strong when everything was going well, but when he was stripped of everything…… Job never cursed God, but he questioned God. In the end, Job realized that suffering is a part of the Christian walk, and eventually he was not only restored of all he lost, but the Holy Bible tells that he received twice as much as he had before. These questions encourage the reader to look to the Holy Bible while using the life of Job as a reference, along with interspersing Job Titus Cannon’s own experiences. Among the issues the author confronts are: God’s ability to make an example out of one’s life, our ability to react positively to life’s negative moments, can a person ever be ready to handle really bad occurrences?, do we have an effective support staff of loving friends and family to surround us in our time of need?, our attitude towards the response of God in our time of need, and our ability to properly handle the bestowed blessings following the turbulent storm. This book gives examples of how the bible patriarch Job handled his numerous storms. This book also gives perspective and scriptural references to help the modern day Christian overcome the many trials that they may face. Job Titus Cannon’s ability to convey his own experiences along with relating them to biblical teachings further enhances the appeal of the book. This book is not only personable but practical because we all struggle with standing tall while facing trials.
About the Author
Job Titus Cannon is a licensed/ordained minister, educator, musician, singer, songwriter, and producer. As an educator in the public, private, and university school systems, Job has over eighteen years’ experience in teaching. Mr. Cannon also has over twenty years experience combined in music ministry and ministry of the gospel. He is married to the former Melissa Woodson and is a devoted father of six.
