Mr. Langford was born in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was raised by wonderful parents. His parents made sure he and his brothers never had a need for anything. He was a thinking child who read a lot and loves to draw, paint, and write. There were a lot of things God was doing in his life even as a child, but he turned his back on it all.
Langford submerged himself in a life of rebellion and self-destruction, which involved fornication, substance abuse, crime, and eventually jail.
He found Christ, though he still had bouts with confidence, fear, anger, and anguish; and was tormented with insecurity. Often times he had to remind himself, that he is well pleasing to God, that the blood of Jesus Christ covers him, and that he was forgiven of all his sins. It was hard to convince him of this. Sometimes he wondered if he was worthy to walk with God, which led him to leave Christ. He questioned whether God was speaking to him at all.
God had to continually encourage him, and remind him he was his child. Often times the way God would speak to Langford is to simply encourage him to write, and that is what he would do.
These pieces represent very specific moments in Langford’s life. They have helped him through some difficult times, and fight some fierce battles that were going on inside him. He came back to Christ. He was always curious of what God had in mind for him. After coming back to Christ, he now knows that God always had a plan, and had things mapped out for him. He just needed to listen closer, with confidence.
We all struggle, at times, with the question of where we are with God, or simply where we are in life. Maybe somehow these pieces can help someone else through some difficult times, to encourage them to fight the battles within themselves with victory. God bless you.
