About the Book
As each day comes and goes, we are affected by four very important facets. They are family, life, marriage, and spirituality. One of the greatest gifts the Lord can bless us with is a loving family. Unfortunately, in today’s society, families are being torn apart by many things. We must continue to pray and fight for what is has been given to us by God.
Every day that we wake up in the morning, we should give thanks to God for letting us live another day. We must not forget, tomorrow is not promised, therefore; we must live each day as if it were our last and should live it for HIM. I can’t begin to say how much better my days have gone since I started each and every day with prayer.
My wife and I have been happily married for fifteen years. I would say “happily married,” but just like with many marriages, we have had our ups and downs. But, with the Lord’s help, we have been able to persevere over all.
Unfortunately, some marriages have been torn apart. The devil’s been hard at work breaking up what God united. For this very reason, we must arm ourselves with God’s suit of armor.
In conclusion, I hope and pray that we open our eyes and our hearts and listen to the messages of the Holy Spirit. We must remember “we belong to God, anyone who knows God listens to us, while anyone who does not belong to God refuses to hear us.” (1stJohn 4:6)
About the Author
I grew up in the small, rural community of
As a young child, my obstacles came early. I was a short, chubby kid with pigeon toes and epilepsy. I would purposely put my shoes on backwards to keep from falling over my own feet. Needless to say, that did not work out too well. Anytime I would get the air knocked out of me, I would have a seizure. The only thing I would remember was waking up tired. My mother was always right behind me with that bottle of medicine, ready to spring into action.
As I grew older, my mother and I grew really close. It was a bond that to this day has special meaning. There would be days when I would pick up the phone just to see how she and Dad were doing and she would tell me, “How did you know I was just thinking about you?”
I believe the Holy Spirit really touched me when my father passed away. I remember staying up all night because I had to tell my dad how much I loved him and how much he meant to me. Once I placed the pen to the paper, the Holy Spirit took over. Before I knew it, I had written a beautiful poem that I can’t take credit for. I guess the neatest thing about that poem was that it had a lot of scripture in it. That was before I actually started to read my Bible. It had always been on my shelves collecting dust just like always. I remember several people coming up to me and complimenting me on it. Several came up to me and asked me if I had gotten all those things from the Bible. I told them that I did not know. I honestly believe that was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
Since then, the Holy Spirit has done many things in my life. HE has blessed me with a beautiful wife and four beautiful children. HE enabled me to graduate with a degree from
As I continue my journey, I truly believe that HE has a calling for me. Having taught for a total of thirteen or fourteen years, I believe HE instilled a message in me. What I write does not come from me but from my Heavenly Father. I am a mere servant.
When I first began on my journey, I was a bit nervous, not to mention scared. Many told me, “Adrian, this journey that you are about to embark is going to be very exciting but also very difficult; prepare yourself because there are many scholars and well-educated Bible people who will really challenge you unless you know scripture.” My faith was still growing and as a result, I was not ready. Just recently, the Holy Spirit revealed to me that while most scriptures are written in the Bible, there are those that are written within our heart. He said, “Therefore, go and preach my word and deliver my message and I will be with you. When you speak, I speak, and when you write, it will be I who is relaying to you what I want you to tell my people.”
So, I go obediently with the love of my father to do his will.
