About the Book

Shannon O'Connor, orphaned at seventeen during a cholera epidemic in 1866 was left destitute when a neighbor stole all the food stored in the root cellar and from her garden when she refused his proposal of marriage.

Left alone to survive the best way she could, she answered an advertisement to be the mother of two little girls.  She married Noah O'Malley the same day they met.

Shannon is a strong willed young woman who believed that God was in control of her life.  It was her faith that helped her to prevail during the terrible events that occurred in her life.

This is a story of a young woman's courage, determination, faith and love.  Shannon will touch your heart.

About the Author

The author writes under her maiden name.  She is an avid reader of almost all genres of books.  However, she admits to being partial to historical novels, westerns and what she calls 'old timey' stories.

Her father was a great storyteller of olden times.  She said, "I think I take after him because he had a great imagination too."

Alice started writing late in life so feels she has to hurry up.  This makes her fourth novel to be published, with several others completed.

Alice and her husband, Arthur, have been married for forty-three years.  He does a lot of golfing, while she spends time at her computer writing.  They summer in Gaylord, Michigan and winter in Homosassa, Florida.
