About the Book

The book outlines a short history of the colored troops that were held as prisoners of war during the Civil War and their infantry groups. Also included in the book are examples of what the Georgia former slaves said about the war.

About the Author

Sharon Hunt is an associate professor at an historically Black university in Georgia. She is the author of a cookbook known as ‘Bread from Heaven’. She has appeared on QVC three times selling the cookbook. Lately, she has written about the African-Americans’ knowledge of the Civil War. She has done her most recent research at Andersonville History Cemetery Library.
